PRELIMINARY WORDS
I want at once,
and starting from the first, to say the reality: the reader of the words of
this blog might think that I, author of the words and songs (lyrics and music)
of this blog, speak English. But it is not true; I believe that my command of
English is only 8% of what anyone who can communicate fairly in this beautiful
language should know. So, I must confess that all the words have been written
by me, that's true, but in Spanish. Only that I have turned to the Google
translator in order to transfer my appreciations to the North American language
in order that some Christian beings may know me and perhaps, wish to listen to
my songs, and of course, exchange their opinions with me on the musical point
that I expose in my blog A computer space where I hope to meet similar people
regarding the central idea of a central Christ in the life of each one of us
who, as the Bible puts it, is the one in control of everything.
PSALM 91 IN HIS MUSICAL VERSION THAT COMPOSED THREE
YEARS AGO, CAN FINALLY LEAVE
I did not imagine how
difficult it would be for me to record and bring this song to fruition. Many
things that surrounded this work for recording became almost insurmountable
moments, there I felt that the evil one did not want the praise arranged by
King David to be translated into a song; However, I asked God for help in every
stumble and, well, well, I overcame the pitfalls.
Ah, when I say I did not imagine how difficult the
process I do without exaggeration; I think the inconveniences form an endless
list; To round off the information I confess: I felt in my own flesh, day after
day, the multiple setbacks (of all kinds) that I faced so that this version of
PSALM 91 could be composed and recorded. That is why I thank God for giving me
tools in his Biblical Word to impose the will of the Lord on my person and thus
complete the song that I have today for those who want to hear, understand and
appreciate it.
Let's talk now about the Latin rhythm, distribution
and use of the chords used in the composition of this version: the current
rhythms, regatta, merengue, salsa, ballads, cumbia, etc., do not have in
themselves something harmful, because no evil is found in rhythms or chords,
but in the misuse we make of them. Consequently, having been born in a Latin country
(Venezuela) where the influence of rhythms of all kinds is imposed, in addition
to the multiple uses of modern harmony that are at hand, I used the musical
resources that God placed in my hand to Forge the idea of Psalm 91 with Latin
rhythm.
In other words: I greatly appreciate the musical
intention of those who have preceded me in their musical compositions that have
sustained high quality works; Almost all excellent in the past centuries.
Now, in the middle of the second decade of the 21st
century, I have the learning of chords and rhythms of my times, because that is
what I have heard in my 66 years of life (I was born in 1953), then, it is with
those tools with those that I try to elaborate my songs and in a special way,
this beautiful song immersed in PSALM 91. Psalm whose music I have composed,
adding as a chorus part of Psalm 1.
Note: this chorus of Psalm 1 seems very appropriate to
describe some psychological facets of my brother LUIS C. ZAMBRANO RODRÍGUEZ
(CALA), who slept in the arms of the Lord this past Monday, September 17, 2018,
brother to whom I dedicate this musical work, especially as the choir says:
Blessed is the man who did not walk on the advice of evil, nor was on the way
to sinners, nor in his chair has he sat down; that is, I know that Cala was, is
and will be, then, a blessed
With my brother Luis C. Zambrano Rodríguez,
called CALA forever
God wants
this version to fulfill the main task: that the listener identifies a little
more with the great realities and teachings that our God has arranged, by the
hand of King David, to praise the Most High in that Psalm.
